The UAE has announced a four-day Eid Al Etihad holiday for the public sector.

For the last public holiday of the year, National Day, which is now known as Eid Al Etihad, the UAE has announced a four-day respite for government workers.

The UAE government announced on Monday that public sector workers will get paid holidays on Monday and Tuesday, December 1 and 2. On Wednesday, December 3, ministries and federal organizations will resume their usual business hours. When the paid holidays are coupled with the previous Saturday and Sunday, residents will have a four-day long weekend.

Certain UAE public holidays may be moved to the beginning or end of the week if they fall on a weekday, according to a Cabinet resolution that went into effect on January 1, 2025. This year, the paid holidays for Eid Al Etihad have been rescheduled from Tuesday, December 2, and Wednesday, December 3, to Monday, December 1, and Tuesday, December 2.

However, the resolution is not applicable during the Eid holidays, and it can only be put into force if the Cabinet makes a decision to that effect. All employees receive an equal amount of breaks throughout the year because to the nation’s unified holiday policy for both public and private sector workers.

As they honor a resilient past, embrace a vibrant present, and construct a hopeful future, families and communities from all generations come together on Eid Al Etihad, united and linked. It commemorates the momentous occasion on December 2, 1971, when the seven emirates came together to form the United Arab Emirates. It is the official commemoration of the UAE’s national day.

Throughout the Eid Al Etihad weekend, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and other emirates shine with exceptional activities that will change the city’s most beloved attractions. These events range from unforgettable cultural showcases and heritage parades to family entertainment, a variety of gastronomic delights, and brand-new experiences.

Residents of Dubai can take in must-see comedies and theater productions, live concerts including Emirati superstar Balqees at Festival Bay, exciting sporting events, and breathtaking fireworks that illuminate the sky.
